Title & author:
Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us by Seth Godin.
What it's about:
The book defines tribes and discusses how they are formed and how that relates to your business or movement growing. I feel like the concept of "tribes" is super common now but it might have been newer when the book was first published (2008).
Who it's for:
Anyone who is starting something new and needs a little boost of encouragement to go forth bravely!
What I liked:
Godin's writing style is fast and easy and full of interesting and amusing real-life examples of leaders and businesses.
What I didn't:
The main ideas are made repeatedly. The book feels like a collection of blog posts on similar topics (which it very well may be as
Godin is a prolific blogger!).
My take-away:
Don't be afraid to take the lead and do something new. Don't wait for permission to do so, Be patient with growth.
